Congratulations to Stephanie Fernandez and Kurtis Champion in the Hoesli/Leask labs for publishing their research investigating oxygen transport in a perfused beta cell encapsulation device. They described a combination of experimental and computational methods to understand and predict human-scale device performance. This approach could better inform preclinical design and strategies to avoid hypoxia in cell therapy devices. Co-authors include Lisa Danielczak, Marco Gasparrini, and Steven Paraskevas.
